Ralph Hospedales, 92, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather of Barrenspot, St. Croix, passed away unexpectedly on April 9, 2026. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his loved ones and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Ralph was born on July 29, 1933, in Moruga, Trinidad and Tobago. He later made St. Croix his home, where he worked as a skilled pipefitter before becoming a taxi driver. Ralph was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially gardening and hunting pastimes that reflected his love for nature and the outdoors.

He leaves to cherish his memory of his beloved wife of 53 years, Lorna Hospedales; his children, Dennis Hospedales, Wendell Manswell, Wendy Manswell, Paula Manswell-Charlery (Andy), and Paulette Manswell-Sims (Al); nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Yvonne.

A family and friends viewing will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Divine Chapel from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

A service to honor Ralph’s life will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, at the Chapel at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Barrenspot. Viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 10:00 a.m.
