Norma Gladys Couvertier

The family and friends of Norma Gladys Couvertier are saddened to announce her passing on October 13, 2026, at the age of 91.

Norma will be lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched throughout her years. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her and shared in the journey of her life.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Angel Luis Couvertier; her mother, Juana Colon; her father, Juan Felipe Aponte Sr.; her daughter, Norma G. Couvertier Velez; her brother, Juan Felipe Aponte Jr.; and her sister, Maria M. Aponte.

Norma leaves to cherish her precious memories her daughters, Mirna I. Rivera and Indra L. Couvertier; her son, Noel Stewart; her grandchildren, Angel L. Rivera, Jaileene I. Cintron, Netanya M. Velez, and Rebecca Velez; and her great-grandchildren, Angel D. Rivera, Antonio D. Cintron, Josiah E. Rivera, Sophia I. Cintron, Yeiry M. Rivera, and Alexander L. Cintron. She is also survived by her brother, Juan Roberto Aponte; her sister, Elsa N. Garcia; and her special friends, Victor Angel Martinez, affectionately known as “Cani,” and Sofia Elena Martinez. She also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and other relatives and dear friends who will continue to hold her memory close to their hearts.

Norma's life was a treasured part of her family's story, and her memory will live on through the love she shared and the generations who follow her. Though she is no longer with us in body, the memories of her life and the bonds she created will remain forever.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at Divine Funeral Services & Crematory Chapel, located at #129 Peter’s Rest, Christiansted, VI 00820. Viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery.
