Mary Liburd

Mary Liburd, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, godmother, and cherished friend, was born on November 6, 1932. She peacefully passed away on September 3, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Alberta Phillip-Liburd and Josiah Liburd, and her sister, Mariam Walters.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Mildred Henderickson and Hermina Benjamin; her grandson, Jamel Boyce; and her great-grandchild, Jahei Boyce. She also leaves to cherish her memory her nieces, Marilyn Walters, Mavis Walters, Greta Walters, Meredit Walters, and Ideta Liburd; her nephews, David Walters, Cutie Walters, Robert Walters, and Emanuel Walters; and her beloved cousins, David Rossignton, Ruby Adams, Florestene Rossington, Helen Pena, Carolyn Adams, Cathy Adams, Theodore Gumbs, Sandra Pena and family, and Clement Adams.

Mary will also be lovingly remembered by her goddaughter, Gennia Liburd; her special friend, Rhona Liburd; Judy; Cecile Rossington; Sister Defoe; Sister Ortiz; Ermin Jeffers; Henry Benjamin; Avis; Olanie Cornelius; and many other relatives, friends, and loved ones too numerous to mention. Each person who had the privilege of knowing Mary carries a special memory of her and the love she shared throughout her life.

Mary's presence brought meaning and warmth to the lives of those around her. Although she has departed this earthly life, the love she gave, the memories she created, and the lives she touched will continue to live on through her family and friends. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.

A Family and Friends Viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Divine Funeral Services & Crematory Chapel.

A Funeral Service will be held at Church of the Nazarene, Orange Grove, Christiansted VI 00820. Viewing will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery.

May Mary Liburd's soul rest peacefully, and may God grant comfort and strength to all who mourn her passing.
