Leo James Simon, affectionately remembered by his family and friends, peacefully transitioned from this life on March 21, 2026, at the age of 83.
Leo was preceded in death by his beloved wife Christiana Agatha Simon, his mother Tamar Simon, his father Walter Simon, his brothers Isaac Bright, Nehemiah Simon, and Maurice Simon, and his sister Florence Ralph.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving children: Linroy Simon, Orlene Simon, Dawn Simon, Terry Simon, Kevin Simon, and Kenvis Simon. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Linroy Simon Jr., Lydaira Simon, Lynecia Simon, Lyneil Simon, Lyteo Simon, Venisha Joseph, Vernicia Joseph, Vincent (VJ) Joseph, Darnell Benjamin, Da’Vaughn Benjamin, D’Nai Everett, Destynee Corbett, Shinirah Simon, Kevin Simon Jr., Kayla Simon, and Cameron Simon. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Renirah Faulkner, Azari Edwards, Jadiel Joseph, A’Nyla Everett, Ja’Zaire Lawrence, Everly Bates, and Xolani Benjamin.
He also leaves behind his siblings: Edris Joseph (England), Viola Simon (Antigua), Gwendolyn Simon (Antigua), Beatrice Simon (Antigua), Grisilda Simon (Antigua), Mavis Simon (Antigua), Kenroy Simon (New York), Zachariah Simon (Antigua), Arthur Simon (Antigua), and Edwin Simon (Antigua).
He is further survived by his daughter-in-law Tamika Simon; brothers-in-law Alfred Edwards (St. Thomas), Elroy Edwards (Antigua), Ezekiel Edwards (Antigua), Prestico Edwards (Antigua), and Eric Edwards (Antigua); sisters-in-law Itlaine Edwards-Brown (Antigua), Eutricemay Edwards-Pryce (New York), and Julian Edwards (Antigua). Leo will also be fondly remembered by his special cousins Roy Simon & family, Julia Chalery & family, Burt Christopher & family, Lisa Pena & family, and the Simon family of Ebenezer, Antigua, along with many other relatives too numerous to mention.
He also leaves behind special friends including Yvette Joseph & family, Velda Massiah, Mary Thomas, Celestine Carr & family, Sonia Andrews & family, Naomi Carr & family, Lyra Tonge & family, Bernice Bell & family, Jerry Felicien, Carol Azille, Vernon Benjamin & family, Dee Louis & family, Marcia Richardson & family, Ena Jules & family, Monty King, Vincent Joseph & family, Sis. Bryan, Theodore Richards, the Bethel Seventh-day Adventist Church family, and many other dear relatives and friends.
A Family Viewing will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Divine Funeral Home, Peter’s Rest, St. Croix.
The Funeral Service for the late Leo James Simon will take place on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Bethel Seventh-day Adventist Church, Williams Delight, St. Croix. Viewing will begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery.
