Joseph Eldon Serrant

The family of the late Joseph Eldon Serrant, age 94, of St. Joseph, Commonwealth of Dominica, who resided on St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, is saddened to announce his passing on September 21, 2026.

Joseph was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and respected member of his community. He will be remembered for the love he shared with his family, the friendships he cherished, and the many lives he touched throughout his years.

He was the beloved husband of the late Gwendaline Serrant.

Joseph leaves to cherish his memory his beloved daughters: Cecilia Verne Bardouille, Marcella Edwards, Norla Blanc, Euda Serrant, and Wilda Emmanuel; his sons: Everson and Danny Serrant; and his grandchildren: Herman Jr. and Vernelle Bardouille, Kishon, Atilah, Shanny, Nick and Ismael George, Halimah Blanc, Kimel Daniel, Ebony Emmanuel, Dr. Hal, Krista and Kevin Edwards, Algerson Jn Baptiste, Azara and Dania Serrant, Hernick Augustine, Daryl, Curvin and Theona Serrant.

He is also survived by 24 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, who will forever carry his memory and legacy in their hearts.

Joseph is also survived by his sisters, Cynthia and Isla Serrant, Mignon Guiste, and Millicent Jno. Baptiste; his brothers, Terrill, Peterson, Ellis, Elliot, Gillis, and Henry Serrant; nieces, Nadine Serrant, Easterlyn Adams, and Thora Serrant; nephews, Barry, Dinnard, Ted, Desmond, Tyson, and Gilson Serrant; sisters-in-law, Yolanda Serrant and Nicole Serrant; brother-in-law, Philbert Jno. Baptiste; and sons-in-law, Herman Bardouille Sr. (Baboolee), Abraham Edwards (Abam), Roy Emmanuel, and Ambrose Blanc.

Joseph leaves behind many special friends who were dear to his heart, including Mr. and Mrs. Griffith and family, Euline, Ma Dorival and family, Alwyn and Stephanie Jn Baptiste, Theodosha Christopher, Pat Browne, Ma Jean and Claudia, Kenny Pierre, Claudette Thomas, Osha Mathews (Caretaker), Edgar Austrie, Jenny Thomas and Family, Continuum Care Staff, Dr. G., and Owen.

He will also be deeply missed by his many other relatives, friends, neighbors, and community members, including Ambrose and Emanuel Sylvester, Alvin Knigh, Chrisiella Gabriel, Aldith Defoe, Elpha Sylvester, Clement and Lester Charles, Coreen King, Nalda Charles, Andreth Serrant, Mona Berton, and their families.

He leaves cherished memories with the Barren Spot neighbors, the St. Ann's Catholic Church Community in St. Croix, and the St. Joseph Catholic Church community in Dominica, as well as Virginia Eugene Iyokes and the Serrant, Jolly, Charles, Mility, Bardouille, Riviere, Sylvester, Knight, Ferreira, and Bellot families.

His memory will also live on throughout the St. Joseph, Layou, and Mero communities, and among the many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

Though his earthly journey has come to an end, the love he gave, the memories he created, and the legacy he leaves behind will continue to live on through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.

A funeral service celebrating the life of Joseph Eldon Serrant will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Barren Spot, St. Croix. Viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 10:00 a.m.

 Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery.
