Jose Antonio Cotto

Jose Antonio Cotto was born on May 7, 1973, and passed away peacefully on September 7, 2026. He leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

He was preceded in death by his grandparent(s); his aunts, Anan Anita Cotto and Juanita Cotto-Melendez; his uncle, Jose Cotto; his cousin, Joshua Mohansingh.

Jose is survived by his loving mother, Graciela Cotto, and his father, Antonio Cotto; his daughter, Laila Marnie Cotto; his brother, Miguel Cotto; and his sisters, Maribell Ayala and Sandra E. Cotto. He is also survived by his aunts, Pricilla Mohansingh and Noemi Diaz,; his uncles, Jobo Cotto Jr., Pedro Cotto, Felipe Ledesma, Hector Ledesma, Danny Ledesma, and Moises Ledesma Jr.. He will also be lovingly remembered by his nieces, Shaniya A. Gumbs, Marivelis Franco, Glorimar Ayala-Reichle; and his nephews, Jaxelle Cotto and Jandel Miguel Cotto. His great-nieces, Kenija J. Grant, Naziyah Cotto and Sophia Lopez; and great-nephew, Christian Reichle, will also cherish his memory.

Jose leaves to cherish his memory his many beloved cousins, Luz Maria, Gilberto Cotto, Wilfredo Cotto, Mericela, Carmen D. Saldana Nunez, Clarissa Nunez, Jaitene Nunez, Louisa Saldana-Theophile, Moises Ledesma, Nicholas Ledesma, Jose Ledesma, Hector Ledesma, Keisha Ledesma, Benjamin Rios, Marisol Rollocks, Karishma South, Takiyah Matthew, Kaieshma Smith, Jason Ledesma, Angel Luis Saldana, Nishma Lopes, Selah Mohansingh, Jaliesha Colon, Jose Rodriguez, Thalia Mohansingh, Solmaris Mohansingh, and Joel Mohansingh. He is also survived by his in-laws, Ivan Ayala and Jelani Grant, as well as his special friend, Popie.

A family and friends viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Divine Funeral Services and Crematory Chapel, 129 Peter’s Rest Christiansted VI 00820.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Divine Funeral Services and Crematory, 129 Peter’s Rest Christiansted VI 00820. Viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m., with the Funeral Service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery.

Jose Antonio Cotto will be remembered for the love he shared with his family and friends and for the memories he created throughout his life. Though he is no longer with us in person, his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. May he rest peacefully in eternal rest.
