With profound sadness, the family of Carmelo Martinez announces his passing on June 22, 2026, at the age of 56. Born on September 25, 1969, Carmelo will be remembered for his love of family, his kind spirit, and the lasting impact he made on the lives of those who knew and loved him.
Carmelo was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Florita Ortiz-Ilarraza and Roman Martinez; his brothers, Julio Martinez; and his sisters, Justina Martinez, Gloria Martinez, and Maria Bermudez.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his devoted son, Carmelo Martinez Jr.; his beloved grandchildren, Ca'Mari Jashawn Martinez and Jayden Ezekiel Martinez; his brothers, Jose Manuel Martinez, Juan Alberto Martinez, Luis Enrique Martinez, Hector Luis Martinez, Roman Martinez, Humberto Martinez, and Samuel Martinez; his sisters, Lydia Esther Martinez, Milagros Martinez, Carmen Dolores Martinez, Doris Martinez, Juanita Martinez, Josefina Martinez-Acosta, and Luz Delia Martinez; his cherished aunts, Ildefonsa Williams and Ana Robles; his sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Gumercinda Martinez, Juanita "Jenny" Santos, and Jose R. Acosta. He also leaves behind a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends, all of whom will forever treasure his memory.
A Funeral Service celebrating the life of Carmelo Martinez will be held on July 17, 2026, at Iglesia Hermanos Unidos en Cristo El Triunfo. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the viewing, which will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will immediately follow at Kingshill Cemetery.
Though Carmelo has departed this earthly life, his love, laughter, and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in eternal peace.
